Conservation status of habitat types and species	All EU Member States are requested by the Habitats Directive (Article 17) to monitor a wide range of rare, threatened or endemic animal and plant species. Rare and characteristic habitat types are also targeted for conservation.
European Red Lists of Species	The European Red List is a review of the conservation status of c.6,000 European species according to IUCN regional Red Listing guidelines
Natura 2000 data	Natura 2000 is the European Union network of protected sites
Linkages of species and habitat types to MAES ecosystems	The database contains associations based on butterflies, mammal, reptile and amphibian species listed in European Atlases, all species and habitats considered for reporting under Article 17 of the Habitats Directive and all bird species considered for reporting under Article 12 of the Birds Directive.
Population status of birds	All EU Member States are requested by the Birds Directive (Article 12) to monitor wild bird species naturally occurring in the European Union
